If you’re feeling a little overwhelmed during this pandemic, remember how empowering it can be to reach out and help others while social distancing. We pride ourselves in being a part of our community, here are some suggestions of things we can do to help others:
Stay connected using social media. Many people are practicing social distancing & for those who are alone they may appreciate a quick message on Facebook, or pick up the phone and call a friend or family member.
Donate to your local food bank. Many food banks are struggling right now so if you have some extra items on your shelves consider donating them.
Buy gift certificates online or by phone to support local small businesses in your area. You can use the gift cards yourself at a later date or give them as gifts later in the year.
Help by delivering groceries to people who are vulnerable, self-isolating, or in quarantine.Just be sure to wash your hands before and after touching the items you buy, make sure there isn't any in-person contact during drop-off, and don't go into their home.
Although this pandemic is keeping us apart, it is also bringing us together to protect our community and the people in it.
